NZDA 1547 appendix L6 covers gravity loading effluent.
clause CL6.1.2 specifies:
"Suitable shape, size, and density of slots or holes for plastic piping are covered in AS 2439.2."
and AS 2439.2 specifies the following for slotted pipes (clause 3.2):
-slots shall be 5mm wide by 15-85mm long, or holes shall be 10-15mm diam -slots shall be parallel to the logitudinal axis of the pipe -not less than 3 rows of perforations -for absorption trenches perforations must be equi-spaced at 180 deg, so will need 4 rows
I assume the pipe is installed with the slots at the side so there is a level channel down the middle to convey the effluent to the end of the line. This means effluent will remain in the pipe up to the slot height unless the end of the pipe is left open to allow effluent to drain out the end?
So who makes or supplies slotted pipes meeting this standard?
